CLOSETS ARE FOR CLOTHES EXCHANGE & BOUTIQUE

The purpose of this service is to alleviate the often heavy financial burden of transitioning or coming out. All S&T students who have a need may use it accordingly.

Stocked with quality clothing the closet provides free clothing exchange for trans and gender transitioning students allowing them access to gently used or new gender affirming clothing, shoes and accessories. The purpose of this service is to alleviate the often heavy financial burden of transitioning or coming out. While the transgender, non-binary and gender nonconforming community are given priority access to this resource, all S&T students who have a need for this service may use the closet.

WHAT IS A CLOTHING EXCHANGE?

A clothing exchange is a type of swap wherein participants exchange their valued but no longer used clothing for clothing they need and will use. Don't have anything to swap? No problem! This service is available to all S&T students who have a need.

Step 1: Schedule an appointment to bring in your gently used, current style name brand clothing, shoes and accessories.

Step 2: A Inclusion and Engagement associate will review your items while you shop the closet. All items must be FRESHLY LAUNDERED, free of stains, all buttons and zippers in place and working order.  Shoes should be in next to new condition free of stains and excessive wear. Item should be brought in a LAUNDRY BASKET or SHOPPING BAG. No trash bags or hangers please.  All items must be in ready to wear condition.

STEP 3:  The Inclusion and Engagement associate will accept only items based on style, condition, brand and current inventory needs. We look for current styles and trends for late teens and twenty somethings.  Please note, we do NOT accept anything and everything.  We take items that fit our guidelines, inventory levels, and condition.

Schedule:

If you are a student who is interested in using the closet, we welcome you to schedule a private appointment or stop by and take a look, explore the clothes, and if there is something you like that makes you feel great about yourself, it is yours to keep.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 - By private appointment only.

Due to the generosity of our donors, the clothes closet is currently only accepting NEW or LIKE NEW exchanges of men's and women's clothing, shoes, and accessories from students using the closet.  Items must be new or like new, clean with no tears, rips, missing buttons, or broken zippers. You can bring your items when you come to pick out your clothes to swap out. We ask that all other items be donated elsewhere.

Thank you for your support!
